As You’re Vanishing In Silence is Italian duo All My Faith Is Lost…’s first proper outing, having previously been released only on CDR and compilations. Yet the maturity, depth and richness of their sound suggest a long-time musical partnership, as they gently compose ethereal, solitary melancholia with haunting, gothic overtones.Delicate acoustics are intertwined with strings, synths and woodwinds, along with lilting vocals and regular spoken word, creating a post-classical mix of sombre poetry and mournful compositions.
Lyrics alternate between English and Italian, but consistently maintain a beautiful sadness conducive to late night reflections.
The darkness-associated fragility would interest fans of Ain Soph, Gothica, Eva O, Rachel’s and various Projekt artists, though fans of Cold Meat’s harsher industrialists may find little in common with the duo.
