An excellent German movie featuring some pretty impressive soundtracks…trendy, as some may say.>>Launch my Radio.Blog to listen
*The Notwist: Gemini

from album The Notwist,1990
Formerly being a hardcore punk band from Munich, the Notwist has gradutly evolved into another indie embracer, with “a fusion of classic ’80s indie-pop songwriting and scruffy electronic”. I love the riff segment in this song, which matches the tone in early part of the movie.
*One Inch Punch: Pilot

from album Tao of the One Inch Punch, 1996
A subtal piece in disc1, which recalls me Frou Frou’s Let Go in Garden State.
He’s living next the rails.
He can tell you things of different cars and trains.
Now he’s trying the whole day
to SWITCH off time by causing train-delay.
Could be enough
if only he’s the pilot
once a day.
Could be enough
if only he’s the pilot
once a day.
Not a word to compensate.
Not a sentence to describe this
desperate state. Not a picture to
compare. We step into a room of
opaque air.
Could be enough
if only we are pilots
once a day.
“…the main version offers affecting vocals over a song that will be massive with fans of melancholic indie, but this is stripped of all pretention ? simply great. Strings flesh out the sound and the beats switch from acoustic to electronic, the voacals are affected, Thom Yorke/Bjork style and guitars riff in a subtle manner.”

*Lucky Jim: Halleluja

from album Our Trouble End Tonight
A song of slow burning and poignant, which faded in as the background music in the ending scene. Another sad song You Stole My Heart Away in the OST is also from this UK-based duo.
